Asia Pacific Deaf Sports Federation and Hong Kong Deaf/Hearing Games Preparatory Committee
To encourage a strong and harmonious collaboration for the 9th APDG, the Asia Pacific Deaf Sports Confederation (APDSC) and Hong Kong Deaf Games Organising Committee (HKGOC) has signed a memorandum of understanding on 11th June 2019. Our mascot Ar Lung was present to witness the signing.
Apart from the signing, all parties were also busy preparing for all the details to ensure a smooth and successful game. Many of our athletes from all over the world are getting ready to give their best performance at the game. Thank you all again for your generous support. Look forward to seeing you all at the 9th Asia Pacific Deaf Games in November!

<The story of Ar Lung>
Our mascot Ar Lung has lived on the Lion Mountain for many years. He is very passionate, kind, and athletic with love for the nature; he possesses super powers that can transform the sound frequency from a competition to music beats.
The name “Ar Lung” has a special meaning; “Ar” in Chinese bears the meaning of “Asia pacific”, and “Lung” is written as “dragon” in Chinese but has the same pronunciation as “deaf”.
The sound frequency patterns on his body represents the strong will of never giving up.

The games will begin soon！！
Only 168 days until the 9th Asia Pacific Deaf Games' opening ceremony!
Both the athletes and the organizers are busy preparing for the big day to come. And today, we are happy to have visitors from the Chinese Taipei Sports Association of the Deaf who generously shared their experiences in organizing sports games; from support techniques on each category to details to pay attention to at reception, to other incidents they've encountered.
We are definitely look forward to seeing these familiar faces again in the coming November at APDG!
