Table Tennis, also known as ping pong, is a sport in which a lightweight ball is hit back and forth across a hard table using small bats, with both sides of the table separated by a net. It can be played as an individual sport (singles) or a team sport (doubles).
Table Tennis originated in Victorian England as a parlour game, and in 1926 the first official World Championships were held in London. It became an Olympic sport during the 1988 Seoul Summer Olympics.
