Introduction
Beach volleyball is a team sport played by two teams of two players on a sand court, where each team aims to avoid the ball from hitting the ground in their half of the court. It is one of the most popular sports in the world due to its low startup cost and low number of members needed for each team.
Beach volleyball originated in Hawaii as a variant of indoor volleyball. Modern beach volleyball was invented in Santa Monica, California and has been an Olympic sport since the 1996 Summer Olympics.
